Zesty Pickled Cocktail Green Beans And Carrots

These delicious pickles made with our Pickling Spices will be good for a month or 2 in the fridge and make wonderful hostess gifts.

  • Yields: 1 x 500 ml (pint) jar


Green Beans, washed and trimmed

Carrots, peeled and cut into thin spears

1 bay leaf

2 dried chili Peppers

180 ml (¾ cup) white vinegar 5% acidity

180 ml (¾ cup) water (soft water)

15 ml (1 tbsp) Gourmet Village Pickling Spice

25 ml (1 tbsp + 2 tsp) white sugar

5 ml (1 tsp) pickling salt


1Bring water and vinegar to a boil in small pot and set aside.

2Add the spices & salt into a sterilized jar.

3Fill with the carrots & green beans, then fill jar with brine mixture, leaving a ½ inch head space.

4Gently tap jar on the counter to remove all air bubbles and seal with lid.

5Refrigerate once cooled.
