What you Need:
Contents of macaroni pouch, Contents of seasoning pouch, 3 tbsp. (45 ml) salted butter, 1 tbsp. (15 ml) flour, 1 1/2 cup (375 ml) milk, 1/2 cup (125 g /4 oz.) cream cheese, 2 cups (500 ml) aged cheddar cheese, shredded, 1 tbsp. (15 ml) dry breadcrumbs.
What to do:
Preheat oven on BROIL. Set aside 2 tbsp. (30ml) cheddar. Add macaroni to a large pot of boiling salted water and boil for 10 minutes. While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter on medium-low in the skillet, blend in the seasoning mix, then blend in the flour and stir until well combined. Whisk in the milk, raise the heat (careful not to boil over the top) and whisk continuously until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat, add cheeses and stir until melted. Stir in the cooked & drained macaroni. Sprinkle the reserved cheddar & breadcrumbs on top. Broil for 6 minutes just to melt the cheese topping and crisp it up.
