Broccolli and Cauliflower “Mac” & Cheese

Try our Mac and Cheese seasoning to make a delicious broccoli and cauliflower bake.

 Contents of Mac & Cheese seasoning
 1 head cauliflower
 1 head broccoli
 3 tbsp. (45 ml) salted butter
 1 tbsp. (15 ml) flour
 1 1/2 cup (375 ml) milk
 1/2 cup (125 g /4 oz.) cream cheese
 2 cups (500 ml) aged cheddar cheese, shredded
 1 tbsp. (15 ml) dry breadcrumbs

Preheat oven on BROIL. Set aside 2 tbsp. (30ml) cheddar. Cut the broccoli and cauliflower into flowerets.

Add the cauliflower to a pot of boiling water. Boil for 2 minutes. Add the broccoli and boil another 2 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Melt the butter on medium-low in the skillet, blend in the seasoning mix, then blend in the flour and stir until well combined. Whisk in the milk, raise the heat (careful not to boil over the top) and whisk continuously until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.

Remove from heat, add cheeses and stir until melted. Stir in the cooked broccoli and cauliflower. Sprinkle the reserved cheddar & breadcrumbs on top. Broil for 6 minutes just to melt the cheese topping and crisp it up.
