Cheese Macaroni With Broccoli & Bacon

Homemade Mac & Cheese, with our Onion Chive Dip Mix, real cheese, fresh ingredients, full of taste. Try different cheeses and veggies.

ALL YOU NEED
 2 ½ cups (625 ml) elbow macaroni
 1 ½ cups (375 ml) broccoli florets
 3 tbsp (45 ml) butter
 3 tbsp (45 ml) flour
 3 cups (750 ml) milk
  ¼ tsp (1ml) salt
 1 cup (250 ml) shredded Parmesan
 2 cups (500ml) shredded aged Cheddar, divided
 1/3 cup (80 ml) dry breadcrumbs
  8 slices bacon, chopped

Preheat oven to 350 F (180 C).

Set aside 1 cup (250ml) Cheddar.

In a large pot of boiling salted water, boil macaroni for 3 minutes and then add the broccoli and continue boiling for another 3 minutes. Drain, rinse under cold water, drain again and set aside.

In a saucepan, melt the butter on medium-low, add our Onion Chive Dip Mix. Blend in the flour stirring for about one minute then pour in the milk, stir continually until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.

Gently stir in the cheeses until melted. Remove from the heat, stir in the macaroni and broccoli. Pour the mixture into the baker(s). Spread with the reserved Cheddar, then sprinkle on the breadcrumbs and top with the bacon bits.

Bake for 20-30 minutes until heated through and the bacon is cooked. You may want to broil it for 1-2 minutes for a crispy topping.
